Option B negatively impacts your reputation with the Draconis Combine (-10) but increases your reputation with the MRB (+12) and your crew's morale by 1.
Conversely, it can drop morale even further if you refrain from telling the Capellans of Hironaka's involvement. Option A decreases your crew's morale by 1, but enables a random event to occur soon after that allows you to get some payback for Hironaka's deception, recouping the morale loss in exchange for a minor reputation loss with House Kurita.

Have to think that was pretty rare, but then again I also headshot a Javelin with the Raven before that with iirc 4 medium lasers with 25 chance to hit.
